Bendigo Jockey Club

The Bendigo Jockey Club is dedicated to offering the best country racing experience in Victoria. Situated around150 kms from Melbourne, the Bendigo course is one of the most picturesque racing venues in the state. The landscaping provides comfortable surroundings, while modern horse stalls and the large parade ring ensure ample opportunity for punters to study their favourites before race time.

Bendigo Showgrounds

Bendigo’s Prince of Wales Showgrounds which opened in 1968 on an 18 hectare site in Holmes Road is one of Regional Victoria’s largest showgrounds.

At five acres in size and with a one kilometre fence line perimeter it also proudly boasts the largest showgrounds arena to be found in the state including Melbourne.

Dahlia and Arts Festival

The Eaglehawk Dahlia & Arts Festival began as an initiative of a group of Eaglehawk citizens intending to promote the then Borough of Eaglehawk by way of a championship Dahlia Flower Show and mass planting of Dahlias in Canterbury Park, Eaglehawk.

This annual 3-day event, consistently attracts a strong attendance of 35,000 visitors from an extensive catchment area across Victoria and New South Wales, it is a must-attend for anyone in agriculture.

La Trobe Visual Arts Centre

The La Trobe University Visual Arts Centre (VAC) is the focus for the University’s cultural mission in Bendigo, showcasing contemporary art practice and providing a focus for discussion relevant to current ideas and art practice. In addition to an exhibition program that seeks to present cutting edge contemporary visual art, the VAC aims to engage with the community through a public lecture program, artist floor talks and residencies featuring local, national and international artists. The VAC also offers a unique space to host conferences, public seminars and social events.

Sacred Heart Cathedral

Sacred Heart Cathedral is the principal Church of the Diocese of Sandhurst and the home Church of the Cathedral Parish serving the people of central and north west parts of the city of Bendigo and many visitors to the church and the city.
